The Kapurpurawan Rock Formations in Burgos, Ilocos Norte, are striking white limestone formations along the province’s rocky northern coast. Their name comes from “puraw”, the word for white in Ilokano, and their pale, sculpted shapes have been formed over time by the wind and the sea.
Kapurpurawan is one of Ilocos Norte’s best-known natural landmarks, often included in tours of the province alongside its beaches, lighthouses and historic towns. The formations stand out against the coast and are a favourite stop for photographers.

Another Ilocos Norte favourite from our travels is Saud Beach in Pagudpud.
