Calle Crisologo is the most famous street in Vigan City, Ilocos Sur, a cobblestone street lined with well-preserved Spanish colonial ancestral houses. Walking along it, past horse-drawn calesas and old houses with wooden shutters and capiz windows, feels like stepping back into the Philippines’ Spanish colonial past.
Vigan is recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage City for its well-preserved colonial town, and Calle Crisologo is at the centre of that heritage. The photos in this post are from our 2010 trip to Vigan City and our walk along Calle Crisologo.
Another Ilocos heritage landmark we have visited is the Saint Augustine Church in Ilocos Norte, which you can see in our post on Paoay Church.
