The Philippine International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta is the country’s best-known hot air balloon and aviation festival, long associated with the Clark Freeport Zone in Pampanga. Balloons from local and international pilots lift off in the early morning, while the rest of the day is filled with aviation displays and activities for spectators on the ground.
By 2015 the fiesta was on its 19th edition, as noted in this post, making it one of the longest-running events of its kind in Asia. For many families in Central Luzon, the early-morning balloon launch at Clark became a yearly tradition and a favorite subject for photographers.
