The Lubao International Balloon Festival was, in its run, billed as the biggest annual hot air balloon festival in Southeast Asia. Its third edition flew on April 14–17, 2016 at Pradera Verde in Barangay Prado Siongco, Lubao, Pampanga, with around 40 colorful balloons from different countries lifting off at sunrise over the Pampanga fields. On the ground, the festival added aerial exhibitions, a bazaar and food fair, live music, and a night-glow party capped by fireworks, drawing crowds expected at over 100,000 across the four days.
