The Sampaguita Festival is the town festival of Lubao, Pampanga, named after the fragrant sampaguita flower that the town is known for. The celebration fills the town with street dancing, floral displays and community festivities.
The photographs in this post are from the Sampaguita Festival in 2014 in Lubao, Pampanga.
Lubao’s sampaguita farmers supply garlands far beyond Pampanga, and the festival is their showcase: street dancing, floral displays and April fiesta crowds all revolve around the small white flower. The 2014 photographs in this post catch the parade and the garland makers at work.
