Baguio City is as much a food trip as a sightseeing trip, and its street snacks are part of the experience. Alongside the strawberries and strawberry taho the City of Pines is known for, visitors come across small, playfully named local treats – and kulangot is one of those Baguio names that sticks in the memory long after the trip.
The photograph in this post is from a February 2010 trip to Baguio. It is a simple street-food snapshot, taken while wandering the city during that trip – the kind of everyday find, sold to passers-by in cool Baguio weather, that rarely makes the guidebooks but often defines a visit.
That same February trip to Baguio was festival season – see our Panagbenga Flower Festival 2010 photographs from Session Road.
