Ligligan Parul, the Giant Lantern Festival of the City of San Fernando, Pampanga, is one of the brightest Christmas traditions in the Philippines. Competing barangays unveil giant lanterns adorned with thousands of dancing lights, each one a showcase of Kapampangan craftsmanship and creativity.
The festival draws big crowds to San Fernando every December and has helped cement the city’s title as the Christmas capital of the Philippines. The photos in this post are from the 2013 edition of Ligligan Parul, taken during that year’s trip to San Fernando.
