As part of Dagupan City’s Bangus Festival in April, the Festivals of the North gathers the champion street-dancing groups of Northern Luzon’s many fiestas for one grand competition. Each contingent performs the festival dance that won in its own town — bringing the colors of the Ilocos, the Cordilleras, Cagayan Valley, and Pangasinan to a single stage in Dagupan. The 2014 edition once again turned the city into a showcase of northern Philippine culture, from harvest dances to religious fiesta numbers. This post covers the Festivals of the North held in April 2014 in Dagupan City.
