The Sabuaga Festival is the Easter Sunday celebration of Sto. Tomas, Pampanga. Its name comes from the Kapampangan words “sabu,” to shower or scatter, and “aga,” morning — and true to its name, street dancers in colorful costumes shower the crowd with flower petals on Easter morning, celebrating the Resurrection of Christ after the solemn days of Holy Week. The festival turns the town’s streets into a rain of flowers, with contingents from the barangays dancing in thanksgiving. These photos were taken during the Sabuaga Festival on Easter Sunday, April 20, 2014 in Sto. Tomas.
