Anawangin Cove is a sheltered beach cove in San Antonio, Zambales, reached by boat from the Pundaquit area. Its curved stretch of pale sand is backed by tall, pine-like agoho trees – an unusual sight on a Philippine beach – and for years it has been a favourite of campers looking for a quiet shore with no large resorts and little development.
The photographs in this post are from a March 2010 trip to Anawangin. They show the cove as campers find it: boats coming in to the beach, tents pitched in the shade of the trees, and a wide, calm shoreline made for swimming, walks along the sand and sunset watching.
For another Zambales beach from the same coastline, see our Potipot Island, Candelaria, Zambales photographs.
