Aliwan Fiesta bills itself as the festival of festivals: each year, champion contingents from fiestas across the Philippines converge on the CCP Complex in Pasay to compete for the grand championship, bringing their hometown dances, props and street pageantry with them. The 2013 edition drew the country’s best festival performers into one arena, and this post records the contingent that took home the Aliwan Fiesta 2013 grand champion title. It sits in our archive alongside our coverage of the earlier Aliwan editions, when the competition was still establishing itself as the national stage for festival street dancing.
