Dagupan City, Pangasinan, celebrates its most famous product every April with the Bangus Festival, honoring the bangus (milkfish) that made the city known as the Bangus Capital of the Philippines. Its street-dancing centerpiece is the Gilon-gilon ed Baley, where barangay contingents dance stories of bangus culture — from pond to harvest — in colorful fish-inspired costumes. The festival is also famous for the Kalutan ed Dalan, the street grilling party where thousands of bangus are barbecued along the city streets. These photos are from the Gilon-gilon ed Baley competition of the 2017 Bangus Festival.
