The Feast of the Black Nazarene is one of the largest Catholic devotions in the Philippines, centered on the image of the Black Nazarene enshrined at Quiapo Church in Manila. Every January, devotees join the Traslacion, the long procession that carries the image through the streets of Quiapo, with crowds reaching for the carriage and its ropes as an expression of faith and personal vows.
The feast is marked by packed streets around Quiapo, hourly Masses, and an atmosphere of intense devotion, as barefoot devotees accompany the image on its slow journey. It remains one of the most documented religious events in the country.
